Valentine’s Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Lovebirds

Made in a pinch

“"The entire family will love these sweet Valentine’s Chocolate-Covered Strawberries decorated as adorable love birds! This easy recipe is quick to make and will delight the child in all of us.

MADE IN A PINCH

– 3⁄4 c light chocolate candy melts – 12 strawberries – Knife – Lollipop stick or wooden skewer – Silicone spatula – Fork – Parchment paper – Plate (or another flat surface) – 24 candy eyeballs – 36 heart sprinkles in red, pink, and white

Ingredients

1.  Cut the crown and all leaves off of each strawberry, making them flat on the top.

Instructions

2.  Heat the chocolate melts according to package directions. I recommend heating them in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and repeat the process for 30-seconds intervals as many times as necessary until it's melted and creamy.

Instructions

3. Insert a lollipop stick or wooden skewer into the top of the cut strawberry, making sure not to push all the way through. Dip the strawberry into the melted chocolate candy, twisting to get chocolate all the way around the strawberry.

Instructions

4. Remove from the lollipop stick and place onto a parchment-lined plate or flat baking sheet. I used a fork to slowly remove from the stick by lifting the strawberry up, and off of the stick.

Instructions

4 (cont). Immediately add two upside-down heart sprinkles as the ears before the chocolate sets. Next, add two eyeball sprinkles.

Instructions

4 (cont). If the chocolate has already hardened on the strawberry, dip the tip of a knife in the remaining melted chocolate, and add a tiny dab to the back of each eyeball to help them adhere.

Instructions

4 (cont). Last, add another heart sprinkle as the beak, centered under the eyes, again using the extra chocolate if necessary to attach.

Instructions

5. Repeat this process until all strawberries are dipped and decorated. Let them sit until they set for around 2-3 minutes before serving.
