Classic Homemade Eggnog

Made in a pinch

Classic, creamy, and old-fashioned, this non-alcoholic homemade eggnog recipe tastes better than any grocery store-bought eggnog you’ll find and will impress your friends and family throughout the fall and holiday season!

MADE IN A PINCH

KEY INGREDIENT

Eggs

1. Combine eggs and sugar in a medium glass bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.

COMBINE

2. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and incorporate whole milk, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Gently heat the egg mixture over medium-low heat, stirring continuously with a whisk (crucial! This requires some patience—refer to the notes on stirring) to avoid scorching the milk or scrambling the eggs. As the mixture warms, it will gradually thicken.

TRANSFER & COOK

3. When mixture reaches 160 degrees on a candy thermometer, remove from heat and slowly whisk in the heavy whipping cream, salt, and vanilla extract.

REMOVE & WHISK IN

4. Cool slightly before tasting. Add more sugar or spices, if desired, before transferring to an airtight container.
