Packing school lunches can seem tiresome, boring, and daunting. So many parents have been there. I have been there!
Meet the Yumbox!! This fun, fantastic box has everything you need to pack colorful, healthy, and delicious lunches for your kiddos!
Here are just a few benefits of using the Yumbox:
- It's leakproof! The lid seals each compartment so that applesauce or yogurt or ranch dressing doesn't go spreading all over the rest of the food.
- It's well-balanced and correctly portioned! No more guessing how much fruit vs how much protein to include. This is also beautifully labeled, making it extremely helpful when you ask your kiddos to pack their own lunch – goodbye boring sandwich and unhealthy chips!
- It's environmentally friendly! As a mom who cares about the environment and wants to do my part to help prevent more damage, I love this. I never liked using plastic sandwich bags that just got thrown away (or best case scenario, got washed and reused a couple of times before still being thrown away). Yumbox solves this for me and makes me feel so much better about the containers I'm using.
- It's kid-friendly! Made with fun colors and graphics, Yumbox is appealing to kids! It's also easy to open and close, and it fits perfectly in our lunch bags.
Here is a recent example of a lunch I sent for my boys in our Yumbox:

My struggle is that my son wants peanut butter and jelly for lunch EVERY SINGLE DAY, but obviously peanut butter is a no-no outside the house. So finding things he’ll eat is hard… I think the snack style of a bento box would work well!
Yes! It is hard to get them out of ruts too sometimes! Sometimes presenting it differently can make all the difference!!
We are definitely in a cold lunch rut! So far my kids haven’t complained, but I know it’s coming! Thanks for the new ideas!

Love this bento style type lunch box. I struggle with a picky eater and always wanting the same things. Maybe something like this would make him try new things. The other one would eat a plate of veggies before a cupcake. Putting a few things in their lunch box the night before helps me out a bit in the mornings. 🙂
It’s hard when you have two who are so different – it feels like short order cooking because you are making completely separate things. Sometimes a change in presentation can make all the difference when it comes to trying new things!
Thinking up new things! It’s pretty much quisidillas, fruit, yogurt, and peas every day. My kindergartner only gets 15 minutes for lunch, so it has to be stuff she can eat quickly!
Hey Courtney! Wow, 15 minutes? That’s such a short amount of time! Ideas coming your way soon…stay tuned!
I struggle with variety and planning ahead with lunches. The mornings are focused on breakfast and I quickly just throw a lunch together.
Yep, I understand!! Stay tuned, Jessie!!
I struggle with variety. I feel like I make the same things over and over.
Yep, been there. Still go there sometimes. Stay tuned…we’ll offer some help with variety!
We’ve been in a cold lunch rut for a while. I’m trying to add variety but end up falling back on the same old choices.
I get it! It’s easy to go back to the familiar (or what your kid will simply EAT!). We are working on some ideas to help with variety – stay tuned!
I struggle with variety and allergen free!
Variety is hard enough without adding allergies into the mix! We’re working on some ideas to help with that…stay tuned!
My biggest struggle with making lunches is the monotony of it all. I usually pack lunches after dinner, so I am also usually the most tired and over-food at that point. It’s such an afterthought some days, because I sometimes forget to shop with lunches in mind-not just dinners.
Yes, I completely understand the monotony and falling into a rut – or completely forgetting to plan for it ahead of time! We have some ideas in the works that will be coming your way to help!
