Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Cake:
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar or xylitol for a healthier option
  • 5 eggs
  • ¾ cup buttermilk or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar added
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
  • Green food coloring to achieve the desired color
For the Frosting:
  • 1 container of ready-made Betty Crocker cream cheese frosting
  • Red heart sprinkles for decoration

Method

  1. Preheat the Oven - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients - In a medium bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. Cream the Butter and Sugar - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add Eggs and Wet Ingredients - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the buttermilk, maple syrup, and a few drops of green food coloring until you achieve your desired shade of green.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients - Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour into Bundt Pan - Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake - Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Frost the Cake - Once the cake has completely cooled, generously frost the top of the bundt cake with the ready-made Betty Crocker cream cheese frosting.
  9. Decorate - Sprinkle red heart sprinkles on top for a festive touch.
  10. Serve - Slice the cake and enjoy your delightful Grinch Bundt Cake!
