Ingredients

  • 5 medium tart cooking apples peeled and thinly sliced; Granny Smith or Rome are my favs
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar not packed; sub 1:1 with Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener for a sugar-free version
  • 1/2 cup flour I have used a mixture of white and wheat (50/50 blend)
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats you can use rolled oat if you prefer
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened and cut up
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg A little of this goes a long way

Method

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Use non-stick spray to spray down an 8x8x2 square baking dish.
  2. Spread out thinly sliced apples throughout the bottom of your baking dish. Combine other ingredients and spread out over the top of the apples.
  3. Bake approximately 30 minutes, or until topping is browned.
  4. Remove from oven, let sit for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm with your favorite vanilla bean ice cream!
