No-Bake Easter Dirt Cake

Easter Dirt Cake is not your average spring dessert. Creamy pudding, crushed cookies, and zero baking create the dessert everyone remembers.
Prep Time 20 minutes
Chill Time 4 hours
Servings: 12 servings
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups Whole Milk
  • 2 3.4 ounce packages Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 15 ounces Oreo Cookies
  • 1/2 cup Butter softened (1 stick)
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese room temperature
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip thawed
  • Easter Sprinkles or other Seasonal Sprinkles for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • 2 Medium Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Food Processor
  • Mixer

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla extract and vanilla pudding. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes for pudding to solidify.
  2. While pudding is chilling, make “dirt” by crushing Oreos in food processor until they are the consistency of potting soil.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar to the mixture and beat until smooth.
  4. Fold pudding and Cool Whip together, and then fold the combined pudding and Cool Whip into the butter and cream cheese mixture to create the pudding portion of the dirt cake.
  5. Alternate layers of the pudding mixture and cookie “dirt” in serving dishes. Repeat layers until serving dishes are full.
  6. Refrigerate 12 hours or overnight.
  7. When ready to serve, add Easter sprinkles on top, if using.
  8. Serve cold.
