Festive Red, White, And Blue Cake Balls

MADE IN A PINCH

– 9 x 13 inch cake, any flavor - boxed, homemade or store bought – Candy melts - red, white and blue – Sprinkles - red, white and blue – Candy star sprinkles Frosting – unsalted butter – milk, half and half or cream – powdered sugar – vanilla extract

1. Prepare boxed cake, make a homemade cake or take store bought cake out of package.

2. In a large mixing bowl, add butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.

3. Crumble the cake (make sure it is cool if not store bought) in the frosting bowl and combine using your hands or low speed mixer.

4. Once the cake and frosting are combined, form the mixture into balls about a tablespoon in size. Place the cake balls on a sheet tray.

5. In a bowl, melt the white chocolate or candy melts. If the chocolate is too thick, add a small amount of milk to thin it out.

6. Place the ball of cake in the melted chocolate rolling it to coat evenly. Take the coated ball out and place on tray covered with parchment paper. Allow chocolate to dry.

7. In separate containers, melt the red and blue candy melts. Drizzle each color over the top of the dried cake ball. Add sprinkles and candy stars to the top of the cake balls.
