Lisa:
My kids were born at the same hospital I was 35+ years ago. A North Carolinian through and through, I love my family, food, organization (when I can find it), and fun. North Carolina is awesome year-round, but I’m writing this as Spring approaches (yay!), and I love that North Carolina explodes in the Spring and Summer with beautiful plants, flowers, and locally-grown food. With 65+ people moving here daily, I think the secret’s out!
Heather:
Wife, mother of three boys and two fur babies, daughter, friend, group exercise instructor, and lifelong teacher. A North Carolina native turned Colorado transplant, I’m a firm believer in appreciating what you have. Life isn’t easy, but the struggle is worth it – and it’s much easier to walk through when you have support.
Together:
We met in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!) and lived together in the dorms (that would bind anyone for life, right?). Now almost 20 years later, we’re still close friends and we share even more: family, recipes, ideas, budgets, and life.
All of the time we spent studying, having highlighter wars, cooking, eating and meeting new friends turned into a lifelong friendship.
We’ve learned that the small things in life make the biggest difference…connecting with others is the meat of life.
Now that we live almost 2,000 miles from each other and have kids, we want to continue sharing these things with each other on an even deeper level.
These days we spend our time wiping snotty noses, cooking food, driving kids to various activities, helping with homework and reading bedtime stories, rather than really connecting with other people.
And let’s face it, being a parent can feel pretty lonely at times (“why was it my kid who actually stuck the Lego up his nose?” – oh yeah, been there.) Connecting with people makes a huge difference!

Lofty goals, right? I know that, together, we can do it!
