The process is super simple and forgiving if you don’t consider yourself to be a great food decorator.
Step 1
Prepare the brownie mix according to the directions on the box or use your own homemade brownie mix.
Step 2
Using 2 mini muffin tins, spray with non-stick cooking spray, and then spoon the brownie batter into each cup. Fill each cup halfway.
Step 3
Bake for about 10 – 12 minutes. You will know they are done when you insert a toothpick into the center and it comes out clean.
Step 4
Once you have removed the brownies from the oven, use a teaspoon to make an indent in the center of the brownie.
Step 5
Allow the brownies to cool and then remove them from the muffin tin.
Step 6
Melt the white chocolate in 30-second increments in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir after every 30 seconds until chocolate is smooth and fully melted. to prevent scorching
Step 7

Step 9
Finally, decorate with more sprinkles and mini candies.
Christmas Tree Brownies Recipe Notes And Tips
- If your frosting is not holding it’s shape well, pop it into the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to allow it to set up some and it will hold a tree shape better once piped.
- Keep in mind that if you are using a boxed brownie mix, you will need the usual items like an egg, water and maybe some oil to make the brownies.
- To help make your clean up a little easier, place the mini Christmas Tree Brownies on a large baking sheet (lined with parchment paper) while decorating. This way all the sprinkles will stay on the baking sheet and will make cleaning up much easier and faster.
Variations Of Christmas Tree Brownies To Try
- Use a silicone pan to bake the brownies and change up the shapes for different holidays. For example, bake in a heart shaped pan and decorate with red or pink icing for Valentine’s Day.
- Bake the brownies on a sheet pan or in a baking dish, then use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out the tree shape. You can still dip in the white chocolate and add frosting as you choose. Get a little creative. 😉
- Crush up a peppermint stick and sprinkle on top of the frosting for a little yummy pepperminty flavor.
FAQs
Here are the answers to some common questions I see readers ask about making these adorable brownie bites. If you don’t see your question down below, make sure to leave it in the comments so I can answer it!
How do I store these Christmas Tree Brownies?
You can store them in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature. Make sure you enjoy them within 5 days!
Can these Christmas tree brownies be frozen?
The brownies can be frozen and will keep nicely in the freezer for 3 – 4 months.
I would not recommend freezing after the frosting has been added. The frosting will freeze but once you thaw the brownies the frosting will become too mushy and lose its shape.
Why are the sprinkles having a hard time sticking to the frosting?
Frosting can crust up pretty quickly which makes it hard for sprinkles to stick. What you can do to ensure that your sprinkles stick is to add them immediately after you pipe the frosting on.
Can I add mini chocolate chips to the brownie batter?
Yes, you can! However, one problem you might run into would be that the chocolate chips all sink to the bottom of the brownies as you bake them.
Honestly, when I’m making these (if I don’t buy pre-made brownie bites), I like to use the Ghiradelli ultimate brownie mix because it has chocolate chips that don’t sink and it tastes as good as anything I make.
