Valentine’s Day Candy Bark Recipe Notes And Tips

  • A double boiler will work to melt your chocolate as well. You will need to stir often as well while melting using this method too.
  • Be sure to give the first layer of melted chocolate plenty of time to cool in the refrigerator before adding the top layer. You will want it to be set up and hardened so the white chocolate layer does not melt into the chocolate layer.
  • If you do not use the entire package of almond bark, place the unused blocks in a freezer-safe bag or container and place in the freezer. They will keep for several months and you will have some for the next time you are ready to make more yummy candy bark.
  • If you prefer a flavored chocolate layer such as strawberry, orange or cookies and cream, use candy melts instead of the white almond bark for the top layer. YUM!

Variations Of Valentine’s Day Candy Bark To Try

  • This recipe is so versatile. Start with the dark chocolate and white chocolate layers then add some of your favorite toppings such as crushed candy canes, conversation hearts, marshmallows, pretzels, pistachios, M&M’s, peanuts, freeze-dried fruit, crushed Oreo’s or if you are really adventurous add some crumbled bacon.
  • Try adding some food coloring to the white almond bark. For example, add some pink for Valentine’s Day, green for St. Patrick’s Day, orange for Halloween, or yellow for Easter. This will not change the flavor just the color. 🙂
  • Use a toothpick or the end of a pointed knife to make a swirl design on the top almond bark layer. So pretty!!!
