FAQs
How do I store these Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars?
If you are serving these bars at a party or gather, they will keep well at room temperature just for the day in an air-tight container. Otherwise, they will need to be kept in the refrigerator.
So if I have leftover Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars, how long will they keep?
These bars will need to be kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 days but will need to be refrigerated because of the eggs in the recipe.
Can I freeze the Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars?
Absolutely!!! Prepare as directed and allow the bars to cool completely. Slice the bars and then wrap in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. You can freeze them for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
Can I make these bars without using corn syrup?
You certainly can! You can substitute maple syrup, agave syrup or brown rice syrup in place of the corn syrup. Just keep in mind that your bars will be a little less gooey but still very yummy!
Should I use salted or unsalted pecans in the Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars?
That choice is entirely up to you! If you want to control the amount of salt in the recipe, you may consider using unsalted. However, the recipe does not call for any added salt so the salted pecans would be a great addition.
What is the best way to chop the pecans?
If you want larger pieces of pecans to use in the bars, you can rough chop them with a sharp paring knife. This is the way I would prefer them.
However, if you are someone who does not want larger pieces of pecans, you can chop them much finer with the paring knife or use a food chopper to chop them to your desired preference.
