Easter Strawberries Recipe Notes And Tips

  • If you don’t have a piping bag, a food storage bag will work in the same manner.
  • Divide up the melted chocolate into several small bowls and use different colors of food coloring as desired.
  • Allow the strawberries to sit at room temperature for 30 – 45 minutes, rinse and dry them very well. This will cut down on the excess moisture on the outside of the berries and allow chocolate to adhere better.
  • Allow the chocolate covered berries to set up and harden at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. It will take about 10 – 15 minutes if placed in the fridge or 5 – 10 minutes if put in the freezer.

Variations Of Easter Strawberries To Try

  • It’s pretty easy to find fresh berries year round so why not change up the colors of candy melts or food coloring and make these for any holiday you want. Orange and black for Halloween, Red and Green for Christmas or Green for St. Patrick’s Day.
  • Dip the berries in white melted chocolate. Use pink melted chocolate in a piping bag to pipe on little bunny ears and black melted chocolate to pipe on a sweet little bunny face. 😉
  • Cover the strawberries in dark chocolate and drizzle with Spring colors and sprinkles.
  • Dip the strawberries in pink, yellow, green or orange melted colored chocolate and then decorate like an Easter egg.

FAQs

Here are some common questions about our Easter Strawberries recipe. If you don’t see your question below, please leave it in the comments so I can answer it!

Why does the recipe call for oil-based food coloring?

I recommend oil-based food coloring for this recipe because they contain unique ingredients that blend much better with fats and oils.

Therefore, these oil-based works better in chocolates, cake batter, fondant, and other creations that are fat-based.

How long will my Easter strawberries stay fresh?

Typically they will keep for up to 2 – 3 days in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. If the chocolate begins to fall off or the tops appear soft and mushy, they should be discarded.

Can I freeze these Easter Strawberries?

Yes, you can freeze them for up to 1 month. Place them on a baking sheet for about 3 hours until they are frozen solid. This will prevent them from sticking together once you place them in a freezer-safe container.

When you are ready to remove them from the freezer, allow them to defrost in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
