How To Make Raspberry Iced Tea
If you love iced tea recipes, this one is a must-have! Here’s how to make a raspberry-infused sweet tea.
Step 1
Start by making the raspberry syrup! To make the simple syrup recipe, simply combine raspberries, water, and sugar together in a small saucepan. Place on stove on high heat.
Step 2
Bring mixture to a boil. Allow the mixture to reduce and simmer until reduced by half.
Step 3
Pour reduced raspberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a separate bowl. Discard the raspberries.
Step 4
In a separate saucepan, boil 4 cups of water. After the water comes to a boil, remove the pan from the heat and add tea bags. Steep in hot water for approximately 5 minutes.
Take them out of the water, discard tea bags, and allow the water to cool for about 25 – 30 minutes.
Step 5
Take a sip of the tea. If it is too bitter, add a touch of baking soda to the hot tea mixture. Add additional water if you prefer the tea not so strong.
Step 6
Combine the raspberry liquid with the iced tea and stir to combine thoroughly, then enjoy your new favorite tea on hot summer days!
Raspberry Iced Tea Recipe Notes And Tips
- If you prefer a sweeter tea, you can add your favorite sweetener of choice.
- I would suggest that you add the ice just before serving and not before. Otherwise, your tea may become too watered down for your liking.
- Use the recommended amount of raspberries for this recipe. If you use too much, your syrup could end up tasting more like cough syrup.
- If you do not have a fine-mesh sieve, you can use cheesecloth on a colander or strainer over a bowl. Pour the raspberry mixture into the cheesecloth and squeeze the liquid out.
Try These Variations Of Homemade Raspberry Iced Tea
- Garnish with a few fresh raspberries in the tea or lemon slices on the side of the glass.
- Love that citrusy flavor? Add a splash of lemon juice – it’s the perfect combination for homemade iced tea! And if you mix half raspberry iced tea with half lemonade, it’s a raspberry Arnold Palmer!
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- Make a double batch of the raspberry iced tea. Use the extra and pour into ice cube trays and freeze. Serve with your raspberry iced tea in place of plain ice cubes.
- Once you have perfected this raspberry recipe, why not try strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, or peaches.

Yes, you can use substitutes such as Stevia and Splenda in place of granulated sugar. You can use equal parts of sugar-free sweetener to sugar if you are using Splenda. It is best to check the appropriate ratios of the sweetener you choose before using it in your recipe.
