Oreo Cookie Turkeys Instructions
These Oreo turkey cookies are so easy to make that kids of all ages can enjoy and even help get the job done while your guests are on the way over. Just be aware that the kids MIGHT eat as they work, so have extras on hand 😂
Step 1 – Open The Oreo Cookies
Take an Oreo and carefully separate it.
Step 2 – Add The Candy Corn Feathers
Stick pieces of candy corn (using the frosting or melted chocolate as glue) onto the cookie to create turkey tail feathers.
Step 3 – Put The Cookie Back Together
Stick the cookie back together. You might need to add a dot of frosting (if the cookie has low frosting of its own) to get the cookies to stick.
Step 4 – Layer On The Turkey Face
Place a dot of frosting, candy melt, or dab of melted chocolate on the Oreo and build the turkey face on top of it.
Add a dab of frosting on the back of the candy eyes and put them toward the top of the candy melt.
Stick Reese’s Pieces on the edge in the chocolate below the eyes as turkey beaks.
Use the red frosting to “draw” the turkey wattle just to the side of the turkey’s beak.
Now your adorable turkey cookies are ready to enjoy for classroom parties, family holiday gatherings, and more! Use these Easy Oreo Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies as the centerpiece on your Thanksgiving table next to your pumpkin pie – they’ll be the talk of the dinner!
Simple Turkey Cookies Variations To Try
There are several different ways you can make these cute Oreo turkey cookies! Here are a few ideas to add variety to these easy turkey cookies:
- Use chocolate Oreos instead of golden ones

- Try butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips (or even a Reese’s peanut butter cup) for the beak/wattle.
- If you can’t find candy eyes, you can use white chocolate chips or white icing.
- If you need to adapt these adorable Oreo turkeys for a gluten-free diet, use gluten-free Oreos (or similar gluten-free sandwich cookie) and make sure the rest of your ingredients are gluten-free too.
