The process for making these cappuccino bombs looks long and complicated, but it’s much easier than it seems at first.
Step 1
Put a large plate into the freezer.
Step 2
Place candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high in 30-second increments. Stir in between each heat session, until candy is fully melted.
Step 3
Place a spoon full of melted candy into each mold cavity and use the spoon or pastry brush to coat the entire mold cavities, making sure to get all the way up the edges.
Step 4
Put the mold in the freezer for 5 minutes, then remove and repeat step 3 for the second layer of candy coating. Freeze for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
Pour the remaining melted candy into a pastry bag or ziplock bag and snip the end with scissors.
Step 6
Add chocolate melting wafers to a pastry bag or resealable plastic bag and heat in microwave for 30-second intervals, massaging bag between each heat session, until fully melted. Snip of the end or corner with scissors.
Step 7
Remove the candy-coated molds and the plate from the freezer. Remove white candy half spheres from the mold. Place them on the chilled plate.
Step 8
Add 1 tablespoon of cappuccino mix to 6 of the half spheres.
Step 9
Heat the small plate in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Step 10
Place one empty half-sphere upside down on the hot plate and move around slightly to melt the top layer.
Place it on top of the cappuccino-filled sphere and secure the two ends together by piping a bit of white candy at the seam.

Recipe Tips
- Be very careful when melting chocolate in the microwave. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in 30-second increments, stirring really well in between each so the chocolate doesn’t scorch.
- You can make your own cappuccino mix or use your favorite store-bought mix.
- Be very careful when forming these – it’s a thin layer of chocolate and will crack very easily. Press gently.
- Do not rush the melting or hardening process. Be patient.
- Any spherical mold will work, but I recommend this one.
- Smooth out any air bubbles in chocolate after placing it in silicone mold using the back of a spoon.
- Fee free to wear food safe gloves to help prevent finger prints so your chocolate stays smooth.
- Can add some mix ins such as marshmallows or sprinkles.
- Make sure your liquid is hot enough or they won’t open. Once the chocolate is melted, stir and enjoy!
Variation Ideas
- I used white chocolate, but feel free to use a different kind of chocolate such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate. You could even melt some butterscotch chips for an extra sweet and rich flavor!
- Play around with the flavors. Add chocolate chips to your cappuccino mix. Add some instant espresso powder. Try mocha or toffee cappuccino instant mix flavors for a different taste.
