Recipe Notes And Tips
This recipe has been tweaked and developed to my desired sweetness.
However, you can also adapt it to fit your preferences! Simply
- reduce the sugar by ½ cup for a more tart lemonade
- add an extra ½ cup for a sweeter lemonade
It is also important to ensure that you strain the blueberry juice and avoid any pulp slipping through into the lemonade as this will change the texture of the drink.
Last, make sure you give each section time to cool. This helps to enable the ingredients to combine properly and allows the flavors to really marry together.
Variations To Try

FAQs
Here are a few common questions I see from some readers and their answers.
Could you use frozen blueberries instead?
Yes, you could choose to use frozen blueberries instead of fresh ones.
You may find that it takes a little longer to create the blueberry syrup, but it will still give you the desired effect, and as you are straining the blueberries to get the juice, it makes no difference.
You could also use frozen blueberries at the end to serve as well.
Can this be adapted to suit different tastes?
For sure! The beauty of blueberry lemonade (besides the gorgeous color!) is it can be adapted to suit your own personal tastes.
If you prefer things to be extra sweet you can add more sugar, or if you prefer the tart flavor of the blueberries and lemons then reduce the amount of sugar you add, usually by about ½ cup.
