Halloween Dirt Pudding Cups Instructions

Making these spooky treats is easier than you may think. I love making holiday-themed food that’s simple and easy to serve in individual portions!

Step 1 – Make Chocolate Pudding

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk and instant pudding mix boxes. It is best to use an electric mixer because this mixture is very thick. Place the large bowl in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Step 2 – Make “The Dirt”

Meanwhile, place the chocolate cookies in the food processor and finely chop until they’re fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, place them in a large resealable plastic Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or mallet.

Set the crushed cookies aside for a moment.

Remove the pudding mixture from the refrigerator and mix in whipped topping.

Step 4 – Layer The Ingredients Into Individual Cups

Place about ½ an inch of crushed Oreo cookie crumbs at the bottom of each cup. Spoon the chocolate pudding layer evenly into each cup and top with a thick layer of crushed Oreo crumbs on top of the pudding layer.

Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Step 5 – Add “Gravestones”

Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. Place in a piping bag and cut a small hole in the tip.

Use the chocolate to transform the Milano cookies into tombstone cookies so they look like gravestones.

Step 6 – Add Gummy Worms

Remove the graveyard pudding cups from the refrigerator and press the bottom half of a Milano cookie into each cup. Decorate with gummy worms and sprinkles to create a mini “graveyard”

Serve your Halloween dirt dessert immediately.
