As Americans, we love to show our patriotic spirit in various ways. From flying the flag to wearing red, white, and blue clothing on Independence Day, we find joy in celebrating our country’s heritage.

And what better way to do so than through food? With Fourth of July just around the corner, it’s time to bring out your creativity and make something that screams “USA!” – like Red White and Blue Rice Krispie Treats.

As a kid, I looked forward to July 4th every year. We lived in a farming community, but on the 4th, our families would gather in the small town nearby for a potluck, games, and fireworks.

Each family would bring a dish or two, and I loved helping my mom make a fun dessert to share.

Times have changed from the small-town gatherings, but hopefully, you are able to celebrate with friends, family, or neighbors for your own patriotic party.

Red, white, and blue Rice Krispies treats are the perfect way to celebrate. They are super simple to make and a hit with all ages.

Patriotic Rice Krispies treats are the perfect dessert to have your kids or grandkids help in the kitchen to start a new tradition and memory for you and your family.

Red White And Blue Rice Krispie Treats Recipe Notes And Tips

  • Be sure to add the sprinkles to the top before the candy sets. If you wait until the drizzled candy sets, the sprinkles will fall off.
  • Melting the marshmallows on low heat will ensure that the treats will stay soft and fluffy.
  • When pressing the rice krispie mixture into the baking dish, use either cooking spray or butter on your hands or a spatula. This will keep your hands or spatula from sticking to the gooey mixture.

Variations Of Red White And Blue Rice Krispie Treats To Try

  • Have the color of candy melts and sprinkles reflect the holiday or event you are celebrating such as green and white candy melts with shamrock sprinkles for St. Patrick’s Day or black and orange candy melts with bat sprinkles for Halloween.
  • Use a variety of cookie cutters for different shapes. For example, a shamrock, ghost, easter egg, Christmas tree or turkey.
  • Top with regular or mini-M&M’s instead of sprinkles for a crunchy, chocolatey bite.
  • Dye the marshmallow mixture, red or blue before adding in the rice krispies. This will make the entire batch of blue. Make a layer of blue and a layer of red and stack before cooling and decorating.
  • Use the rainbow Rice Krispies for a super fun twist.
