FAQs

How long does it take for coffee filter flowers to dry?

After dying the coffee filters, you’ll need to allow a few hours (or better yet, overnight!) to let the filters dry. Dye only one or several to make different projects! Make different colors to create a gorgeous bouquet!

How long do coffee filter flowers last?

Months! Years! These flowers won’t wilt like natural flowers will. You can use them over and over again for multiple projects!

Do I have to use liquid food coloring?

I love the brilliant colors of food coloring. But liquid watercolor paint is another quick and easy option since it’ll go through an entire stack of 4 filters.

Washable markers are another good option. First, color the coffee filters with the markers, then use an eye dropper to add water. This method is more time-consuming.

How do you get the dark edges on coffee filter flowers?

Washable markers give good dark edges. You can also get dark edges by using very saturated colors and dark colors.

What can be used instead of pipe cleaners?

If you want something that looks a little more realistic or don’t have a pipe cleaner, you can make your flowers and use floral wire for the stem before wrapping it in floral tape.

How can I dry the coffee filters faster?

Your coffee filters take at least 3-5 hours to dry and can take even longer if they’re very wet. There are three ways to help them dry faster:
– Raise them up so air can flow under them (ex: on top of a drinking glass)
– Lay them out in the sun on a warm day
– Put them in the oven ONLY if you can get the temperature down to 130 degrees so they don’t catch on fire!

These easy DIY coffee filter flowers look AMAZING when they’re finished! At first glance, people may not even notice they’re fake flowers!
