How To Make This Scarecrow Popsicle Stick Craft
This craft is super cute and easy to make! Here’s how:
Step 1 – Create the Base
Line up 5 large popsicle sticks side by side.
Glue one popsicle stick diagonally across the sticks to secure them together. Allow it to dry completely.
Step 2 – Make The Hat
Paint one popsicle stick brown. This will be the brim of the scarecrow’s hat.
Once dry, glue it at a slight angle on top of the 5 popsicle sticks to form the hat brim.
Glue two googly eyes below the hat brim.
Step 3 – Make the Face
Paint the top portion of the 5 sticks brown to complete the hat. Allow the paint to dry.
Cut a small triangle from the orange construction paper to make the nose. Glue it just below the eyes.
Use a pencil to draw the mouth and trace the mouth with the black permanent marker.
Step 4 – Decorate the Hat
Glue the small faux sunflower onto the hat brim for a fun, festive touch.
Step 5 – Add the Straw
Cut strips of yellow construction paper to represent the straw.
Glue the yellow strips to the back of the popsicle sticks on either side of the hat, so they peek out like straw.
Step 6 – Adding The Finishing Touches To Your Popsicle Stick Scarecrow Craft
Allow all the glue to dry completely before handling your scarecrow.
Now, you have a charming Scarecrow Popsicle Stick Craft ready to display for fall!
Scarecrow Popsicle Stick Craft Alternatives
- Add an adorable rectangle “patch” on the hat with a different color of paint and “stitch lines” drawn with your black permanent marker.
- Swap out the faux sunflower with a cute colored button or anything else to make your scarecrow craft unique.
- Use yarn or colored string for the hair!
- Paint the hat a different color! Orange is a great choice!
- Instead of a paper nose, use a cutout piece of foam.
Popsicle Stick Scarecrow Craft FAQs
Yes! If young kids are doing this craft, they should use craft glue due to the risk of being burned by the hot glue gun. However, if you’re helping with the craft, you can do the hot gluing!
That’s simple! Put 2-3 of these peel and stick magnets on the back of your scarecrow!
