I don’t know about you, but I used to go to the grocery store (to just “pick up a couple of things”) 3-4 times a week. To be fair, the store is right next to the gym where I teach classes 4 days a week, so it was an easy trip.
But now I don’t even want to go to the store, and when I am there it’s a stressful experience – staying away from other people, trying to find what I want/need with supplies running low or non-existent (I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to finally find toilet paper when we were on our last 4-pack of rolls), and adapting to new rules and policies that have never existed before.
I feel like I’m in a constant state of flux, and for someone who struggles with change, it can be very difficult.
Essential Kitchen Staples
So now that going to the grocery store is a harrowing experience (never thought I would use THAT word for a simple trip to the grocery store, but hey, it is what it is), I’ve taken my grocery stores runs from 3-4 times per week to at the most 1 time per week.
I have seriously cut back and am working hard to not only keep our exposure to COVID-19 low, but I’m also working hard to get creative with pantry recipes.
Having a well-stocked kitchen and pantry is a time-saver and sometimes a life-saver. It allows you to whip up something quick when you have little time or accommodate impromptu dinner guests with little stress and even less expense.
