Two small Ghost Suckers (a.k.a. Ghost Lollipops) made from tissues and lollipops are arranged on a lime green background with a Halloween-themed print featuring ghosts, bats, pumpkins, and candy corn. Each ghost has a different colored ribbon around its neck: black, green, and orange.

As a busy wife and mom, I’m ALWAYS looking for ways to keep the fun AND save time (and stress!).

When I’ve planned Halloween classroom parties, I’ve followed certain guidelines to help make the process easier. For example, I love to set up a Halloween BINGO table along with a game table with something like Ghost Pong.

But another idea is to have the kids make ghost suckers (otherwise known as ghost lollipops). This is something they can do at school and then take home after the party.

Or you could make a bunch of these spooky ghost lollipops to give to the kids as party favors after the Halloween party (or to give as trick-or-treat items)! And it’s a great last minute Halloween party idea if something else falls through!

How To Make Ghost Lollipops

Do you ever feel like you’re the ONE Pinterest-fail parent in the classroom? Yep, me too!

I’ve found the most perfect craft/treat to send to school with her. These lolly pop ghosts are SO EASY. I don’t have very much time to be making 22 of something, but these are quick, simple, and totally doable  (and kids of all ages can help!)!

Step 1 – Create The Ghost Suckers Shape

Wrap a tissue around the Tootsie pop to make your ghost suckers. Try to place it around the pop as smoothly as possible (this will make it easier to draw a face on it.)

Step 2 – Secure In Place With Ribbon

Bring the tissue together where the pop meets the stick and tie a piece of ribbon tightly around the tissue to form the ghost sucker.

Cut the ribbon down to the desired length.

Step 3 – Draw A Ghost Sucker Face

Using the Sharpie marker, draw a ghost’s face on the tissue with the tip of the marker. Get creative and have fun making ghost faces!

And voila! You have an adorable (and EASY) Halloween craft or fun treat!

Ghost Suckers Tips

If you’d like a way to display your ghost, turn over a paper cup and poke a hole in the cup, large enough to be able to place the Tootsie pop stick in. This will hold the ghost up.

You could use elastics (rubber bands, hair ties, twist ties) to secure the Kleenex around your lollipop instead of a ribbon (or tie a ribbon over your tie).

This will be a lot easier if you use an ultra-fine point marker. It will give you better control over how your ghost faces look. Note: the ink WILL bleed, so only press the marker to the tissue briefly.

Feel free to trim the bows a little shorter if you want. Long or short, they are mega cute, either way!

I made 20 of these ghost suckers in about 15 minutes. That’s my type of no-fail craft/treat!
