The Best Dr. Seuss Grinch Waffles (Fun Breakfast Idea)

I love making cute, holiday-themed recipes for my kids, but they have to be easy and cute enough to make it worth the effort!

There are tons of Grinch-themed recipes and ideas out there, and I have a few here on this site as well.

But this is the first Grinch-themed breakfast recipe I’ve shared – and I couldn’t be more excited by how simple it is!

Simply whip up the batter, color it green, and cook the waffles. Then top your Grinch waffles with homemade whipped cream and cute red heart sprinkles for a Grinch breakfast that will make Christmas morning extra festive.

How To Make Grinch Waffles

Step 1 – Make The Grinch Waffle Batter

In a medium bowl, mix together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar.

Stir in the wet ingredients (milk, vegetable oil, and egg) and whisk to combine until your batter is smooth.

Step 2 – Color The Batter Green

Add a few drops of green food coloring to the batter and whisk. Add more, if necessary, until you reach your desired shade of green.

Step 3 – Cook Waffles

Preheat a waffle maker and brush the surface with a little bit of vegetable oil. Pour about 1/3 cup batter per waffle.

Cook the waffle until crispy for about 3-4 minutes or follow your waffle maker cooking instruction.

Cool the waffles on a cooling rack to prevent them from being soggy.

Step 4 – Add Favorite Toppings And Serve

Serve your Grinch waffles with whipped cream and red sprinkles, powdered sugar, or strawberry sauce. Enjoy!

Make Them Dairy-Free – Swap out the milk with your favorite dairy-free alternative. Note: you might need to add a little extra flour if your Grinch waffle batter is too runny.
