Why Make Homemade Sugar Scrub?
When you buy mass-producted beauty products from a store, you’re spending your money on products that contain artificial fragrances and many other ingredients that you don’t really want.
And unfortunately, beauty companies don’t need to disclose all of their ingredients like food companies do, so you can’t even read the label and trust that you’re getting the whole story.
And you pay a lot of money for their products!
Ugh! Paying a lot of money to not even know what I’m paying for or putting on (or into) my body? No thank you!
That’s why I LOVE making my own products (when feasible)! I have the ability to customize them exactly the way I want to while also saving money and feeling good about the ingredients I’m using on my body.

Why and How to Use Homemade Sugar Scrub
Using sugar body scrub is a gentle way to exfoliate your skin and remove the top layer of dead skin cells without drying out your skin. As a natural humectant, sugar works to moisture back into your skin to help prevent it from drying out.
You can use sugar scrubs anywhere on your body, but be careful around any sensitive areas. For example, it may be a bit too harsh for your face, but it might not bother some people.
However, this recipe is ideal for your hands, feet, legs, arms, knees, elbows, tummy, and back!
Sugar Scrubs should be used regularly but not too frequently. About once a week (twice at the most) is all you need to remove all the dead cells and reinvigorate your skin. Don’t forget to always moisturize afterward.

How Do You Make Homemade Sugar Scrub Bars?
They’re actually VERY easy to make!
You only need a handful of ingredients:

- oil
- essential oils
- natural coloring (optional)
Then simply mix the ingredients together, mold them, and they’re ready to use!
Plus, you can easily adjust or adapt the ingredients to get what you want! Make your scrub drier with more sugar, or less abrasive with less sugar, or feel free to change the essential oils you use to change the scent!
I’m sharing the ingredient ratios that I like, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t adjust the recipe to adapt to your needs and preferences!
