How To Make Sheet Pan Fajitas Recipe
This is one of those easy recipes that belongs in your monthly meal rotation!
Step 1
In a large bowl that has a lid, whisk together 1/4 cup olive oil, lime juice, and chile verde seasoning to thoroughly combine.
Step 2
Add in the steak strips, coat well and cover with lid.
Refrigerate and allow steak to marinate in mixture for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3
Next preheat the oven and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Step 4
Remove the marinated steak from the refrigerator.
Spread out the steak in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Step 5
On the second baking sheet, place the onions and bell peppers.
NOTE: You could place both the meat and veggies on one baking sheet to save dish washing. Make sure they are divided with additional parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Step 6
Place your baking sheet(s) in the preheated oven on the top rack.
Cook vegetables for 15 – 20 minutes or until soft. Cook steak for approximately 30 minutes or until done.
NOTE: Cooking time may vary. If you put the steak and veggies on one tray and the veggies finish first, simply remove the tray from the oven, take the veggies off when they’re done, and replace it in the oven until the steak cooks to your preferred doneness.
Step 7
Arrange the steak and vegetables on a serving tray along with the tortillas, cheese, sour cream and guacamole.

Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas Expert Notes And Tips
- When slicing the veggies and meat, keep the cuts approximately the same size so they cook evenly.
- Keep the steak tender by slicing it against the grain (perpendicular to the muscle fibers).
- Don’t over bake! Start checking the meat at 10 minutes to see if you have tender steak and it’s done to your preference.
- Give the veggies and proteins a quick flip halfway through baking for even cooking throughout.
- Be sure to check the doneness of the chicken with a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be 165 degree F. It is not a crucial to check the doneness of the beef, especially if you prefer your steak a little less than well done.
- If you do not have two baking sheets available, a 9 x 13 inch baking dish will work just as well.
- While I kept these sheet pan steak fajitas simple so you could see how amazing they are, you can totally top them with all your fav toppings: sour cream, green chili, salsa, fresh tomatoes, cheese, green onions, sliced avocado or guacamole, and more!

Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas FAQs
Here are some answers to common questions I see readers ask about these easy steak fajitas. If you have a question and don’t see it down below, please leave it in the comments so I can answer it for you!
I find that the best cuts of beef
to use are flavorful cuts of beef that are tender and cook quickly. Flank steak, sirloin, and skirt steak all work well in this recipe.
I would recommend having all the ingredients prepared ahead of time but not baking the ingredients until just before serving.
You can slice all the ingredients and keep in the fridge until you are ready to bake. You can also make all the marinades a day or two in advance and keep in an air-tight container at room temperature.
Sort of! 😂You can freeze all the components before cooking them. Slice all the ingredients. Season the veggies and steak according to the recipe. Place the veggies and steak all in separate freezer safe plastic bags and place in freezer for up to 3 months.
Remove from freezer when ready to prepare, thaw overnight in the fridge and bake according to recipe directions.
They will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 – 4 days if stored in an airtight container or storage bag.
