Breakable Halloween Mummy Candy Bombs
Take the cocoa bomb craze to a new level by making breakable Halloween Mummy Candy Bombs! They’re adorable, delicious, and FUN. Kids will love breaking them open to find the surprise inside! Halloween will never be the same!
Halloween is all about fun! Fun food…fun costumes…fun games, movies, crafts, and more!
I’m kicking off new Halloween content this year with a fun breakable candy that’s as adorable as it is delicious and fun.
The inspiration for this candy came from cocoa bombs. Who doesn’t LOVE the process of breaking open a candy ball to find the surprise inside? With cocoa bombs, you put the cocoa bomb into hot milk to melt open.
(and now I added White Chocolate Mocha Coffee Bombs to the “bomb” family!)
With this breakable mummy candy, you smash it open with a mallet! Hello, destruction!
Ok, that sounded a little violent. Maybe the “smashing” is more like “cracking gently”.
Either way, kids will love both the cracking and the surprise inside! See for yourself in this video…

And don’t forget to serve your mummy candy bombs with some Pumpkin Juice!
These would make a great treat for Halloween parties, school parties, co-workers, or just to enjoy with your kids. In other words…they’re perfect for EVERYONE!

How To Make Breakable Mummy Candy Bombs
If you’ve made cocoa bombs before, the process is nearly identical. But if you’ve never made cocoa or coffee bombs before, just follow this process.
Step 1
Heat 1 cup of candy melts in a medium glass bowl in the microwave for 1 minute at 50% power. Stir well, and continue heating in 30-second intervals until the candies are fully melted and smooth/creamy.
Step 2
Place the silicone mold on a flat tray or baking sheet, and spoon approximately a tbsp of the melted candy into the molds. Coat the inside of the mold with the back of a spoon. Place in the refrigerator for 3-5 minutes to set.
Step 3
Once set, pull the sides gently away from the candy sphere, and push up from the bottom to release the candy.
Step 4
Set on a plate or tray, and fill 3 of the candy halves with about a tablespoon or more of skittles, and top with 3 gummy worms.
Step 5
Place a small heat-safe plate in the microwave, and heat for approximately 20 seconds. Place one of the empty candy halves open side down on the plate, and twist slightly to melt the edges.
Step 6
Immediately place the slightly melted half onto one of the candy-filled halves, and twist again slightly to close.
If you have any gaps, you can heat a spoon in warm water. Rub the spoon across the seams to slightly melt them together, or you can rub with your finger.
Repeat this process until you have 3 filled candy spheres.
Step 7
Next, melt the remaining ⅓ c of white candy the same as you did in step 1. Drape a sandwich bag over your hand, and fill it with the melted candy. Snip the corner with kitchen shears.
Add a tiny dot to the back of each candy eyeball, and place 2 eyes on each sphere.
Begin piping lines back and forth, and up and down in random patterns over the sphere to look like a mummy.
Let set for another 3-5 minutes.
When you’re ready to enjoy, just tap with a small wooden mallet until the mummy candy bomb cracks open. Enjoy!
Cute right?!
Mummy Candy Bomb Tips And Notes
- As you spread the melted candy melts around the mold, make sure to make the edges a little thicker, so that they don’t break when melding together.
- If the candy is pooled at the bottom, spread again to evenly coat all sides, or your sphere will be less circular, and more flat on the bottoms from the pooled candy.
Mummy Candy Bomb Variation Ideas To Try
Feel free to change these breakable candies any way you want to create variation and keep it fun.
- Flavors – Change up the candy that you put inside. It could be Reese’s Pieces, M&Ms, jelly beans, gummy bears…whatever you want!
- Colors – Use whatever colors of candy melts that you want to use. Go for orange, brown, black, green…whatever! Keep the piping color the same as the main candy bomb or change it up. You could make black candy bombs with orange piping, orange candy bombs with green or black piping…the imagination is the limit!
