Slow Cooker Queso Blanco FAQs

Here are a few questions I see readers frequently ask about making this Slow Cooker Queso Blanco recipe.

What do I do if the Queso Blanco is too thick?

Easy!!! Just add a couple tablespoons of milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

Can I use pre-shredded cheese for this Slow Cooker Queso Blanco?

If you want your queso to be of smooth consistency without being lumpy, I would not recommend it. Pre-shredded cheese is coated with an anti-caking agent that prevents it from clumping together during shipping and storage.

Using a block of cheese or pre-cut chunks of cheese do not contain the anti-caking agent so they will melt evenly and smoothly.

What is the best way to store any leftover Queso Blanco?

Allow any leftovers to cool completely and place in an air-tight container for up to 4 days.

What is the best method for reheating the Queso Blanco?

Great question! Simply place it in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and reheat for another 30 seconds. Repeat until warm.

Can I make this recipe on the stove?

Yes, you definitely can! Follow the recipe as printed only use a large saucepan over low to medium heat stirring frequently.
