Fun Waffle Pops (Waffles on a Stick) Treat Recipe
Waffle pops are a cross between a cake pop and a breakfast waffle. These waffles on a stick are super simple to make and perfect for parties, desserts, brunch, holidays (like Easter), or special breakfasts (like birthdays)!

Move over, cake pops and cakesicles! There’s a new kid favorite sweet treat in town! Say hello to waffle pops.
Also called waffle popsicles, they are warm plain waffles coated with melted chocolate or candy melts, sprinkles, icing, and your favorite decorations for the ultimate snacking treat or party food.
The best part is that kids love to make them because they’re easy, colorful, and the payoff when eating them is oh-so-high!
Make them for a special breakfast, brunch, or dessert idea for Easter, birthdays, Mother’s Day, first day of summer break, or even a party for any occasion. Both kids and adults will love them!
Waffle Pops Ingredients
All-purpose flour – you can use unbleached or even whole wheat flour.
Brown sugar – adds a lightly sweet, caramel flavor.
Almond milk – If you don’t have milk, you can use regular, low-fat, or fat free milk.
Oil – I like to use light olive oil, but you can also use vegetable oil or your favorite cooking oil.
Vanilla extract – Adds delicious flavor.
Powdered sugar – makes the icing just perfect!
Pink food coloring – for decorating. You can use any colors you prefer!
Chocolate chips – for melting to create the chocolate dip.
Supplies Needed:
Lollipop sticks or stiff skewers
Sprinkles (optional)

How To Make Waffle Pops
Step 1 – Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt).
In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients (egg, almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract).
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Divide the batter into separate bowls based on the number of colors you want to make. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the desired color is achieved.

Step 2 – Cook the Waffles
Preheat your waffle maker and lightly grease it, if needed.
For each waffle, pour a small amount of batter onto the hot waffle maker.
Close the waffle maker and cook until golden brown (about 3-5 minutes, depending on your maker). Insert a stick while the batter is not fully cooked to ensure it is solid.

Step 3 – Make the Glaze
In a bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and milk. Adjust the quantities of milk and powdered sugar to achieve the consistency you want.
Divide the glaze into two small bowls. Add pink food coloring to one, and leave the other one plain white.
Step 4 – Prepare the Chocolate Dip
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until you have a smooth mixture.
Step 5 – Assemble the Waffles
Dip the top of each waffle lollipop into the chocolate dip, allowing any excess to drip off.
Get creative decorating your waffle popsicles by drizzling different colors of glaze and adding sprinkles!

Step 6 – Serve and Enjoy your Waffle Pops
Enjoy your colorful and yummy waffle treat!

Expert Tip and Tricks
Waffle pops are a cinch to make from scratch, but you can save time by using frozen waffles or even leftover waffles. Or make waffles with your go-to box mix.
If you make waffle pops with a mini waffle iron, make sure you use smaller popsicle sticks.
Decorating Ideas
Your ability to decorate your waffle popsicle treats is limited only by your imagination! Here are some ideas:
- Icing – Easy to make and easy to use in any colors you love! Dunk your waffle pops, drizzle them, or cover them with any other method!
- Peanut Butter – Add a little protein.
- Sprinkles – a kid favorite! Choose any color or style you want and have fun!
- Powdered sugar – a little dusting goes a long way.
- Crushed candy bars – pick your favorite and go! I like to use icing or peanut butter as the “glue” to hold these pieces onto the waffles
- Shredded coconut or coconut flakes – need I say more? You could even color the coconut if you want to get creative with it!
- Chocolate sauce – drizzle it on top for delicious waffles no one can resist!
Waffles Pops Storage
- If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day. Â
- If you covered them in decorations, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- I do not recommend freezing any leftover waffle pops after they have been decorated.
