Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Turkeys Ingredients
This list includes everything you’ll need to make this recipe. The ingredients are simple!
- Strawberries
- White frosting
- Pretzel sticks
- Melting chocolate
- Coconut oil
- Piping bag and tips
How To Make Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Turkeys
The process for making Thanksgiving turkeys out of strawberries is actually super simple and easy! Here’s how.
Step 1
Trim the tops off of the strawberries.
Step 2
Pipe a small dab of frosting on each side of the strawberry.
Step 3
Attach pretzel sticks to the frosting to form the legs as shown in the collage image below.
Step 4
Chill in the freezer for a few minutes until the icing sets.
Step 5
Melt chocolate with just a little bit of coconut oil and stir until smooth.
Step 6
Hold the strawberry over a bowl or place it on a rack and spoon the melted chocolate over to cover it entirely.
Step 7
Place the covered strawberry on a wax paper-lined tray and place in refrigerator until set.
Step 8
Pipe on the white “foot” covers and let set.
Your chocolate Thanksgiving turkeys are ready to impress!

Sometimes you can’t find certain ingredients or you just want to change things up, right? Here are some ideas of ways to change up these chocolate-covered strawberry turkeys.
- Vanilla Tootsie Rolls – melt them and wrap them around the ends to create the leg caps.
- Caramel – love caramel? Melt caramel candies and dip your strawberry turkeys into caramel instead of chocolate.
- Marshmallows – you could use marshmallows in place of the icing, if you wanted to for a delicious twist!
- White Chocolate – if you want a delicious twist with artistic license, use white chocolate instead of regular chocolate. Or use the white chocolate instead of the icing to glue on the pretzels.
