Crack Chicken Recipe Notes And Expert Tips
- If you like your tater tots more crunchy, bake them for about 10 – 15 minutes before adding them to the casserole dish.
- Save time by using a rotisserie chicken or cooking the chicken ahead of time so it is ready when you assemble the casserole. Leftover chicken is perfect for this dish!
- Set the cream cheese on the counter for about an hour to come to room temperature. This will allow the cream, cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise to blend more easily and create a smoother mixture without being lumpy.
- Cover the casserole with aluminum foil for approximately 10 minutes. Remove foil for the last minutes of cooking to allow the cheese to become golden brown.

Make It Gluten-Free
This is a great recipe to make and serve to anyone in need of an easy and delicious gluten-free meal. All the ingredients except the Ranch Seasoning are naturally gluten-free.
There should be some gluten-free Ranch Seasonings available at your local supermarket, or you can make your own to ensure it does not contain gluten.
Also, please note that most mayonnaise brands are naturally gluten-free. However, some may not be labeled due to the possibility of cross-contamination in the factory.
Make It Dairy-Free
When making this recipe dairy-free, there are a few ingredients that need to be switched.
You will need to find dairy-free alternatives for the sour cream, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. There are a number of great options in supermarkets, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding replacements.
Also, please note that mayonnaise is generally dairy-free, but you need to check the labels as some brands have added milk ingredients, making them not dairy-free.
