• 2 mini bottles of sour apple Schnapps liqueur (or the equivalent of crown royal apple or spiced rum!)
• 1 cup 7 Up
• Edible glitter (black gel)
• Ice
• Green food coloring (optional)

How To Make A Halloween Snow White Poison Apple Cocktail

No need to wave your wand for this one, because this festive Halloween cocktail (or mocktail) will come together in a flash!

Step 1

Drip the black gel along the rim of the glass.

Step 2

Add ice.

Step 3

Mix together 7-Up and sour apple liqueur. Pour into the glass with ice and black gel.

Step 4

Serve cold and enjoy!

How To Turn This Cocktail Into A Kid-Friendly Poison Apple Drink (Mocktail)

In order to make this drink PG, you need to substitute the sour apple Schnapps liqueur for a simple green apple syrup.

You can make the sour apple syrup to provide that sour apple taste to your drink. Or, if you want to save time and hassle, you can BUY Green Apple Syrup!

Here’s how to make a simple sour apple syrup. Gather:

• 10 Sour Apple Jolly Rancher Hard Candies
• 2 cups of Water
• 1 large Plastic Storage Bag
• Rolling-pin or meat tenderizer

Directions:

1. Boil the water in a saucepan.
2. Put the unwrapped candies in a bag and use your mallet or rolling pin to break them up until they’re mere crumbles.
3. Add candy to the boiling water and stir until all the pieces dissolve.
4. Let your syrup cool, and it’s ready to use.

Kid-Friendly Snow White Drink Mocktail Directions

Just replace the sour apple liqueur with 1.5 – 2oz of sour apple syrup. Keep the rest of the recipe the same.

Variation Ideas

There are so many ways to add a little variety to this recipe! In addition to making this adults-only drink kid-friendly, here are some other ideas to change things up.

Change The Flavor

Replace the 7-Up with apple cider or apple juice, cranberry juice, or sparkling water (or a combination) for an extra witchy twist to this festive drink. 

Or try giving this Poison Apple Cocktail a candy apple twist by adding a little bit of butterscotch schnapps.

Play Around With Color

I happen to think the green color is awesome! But you can change the color to coordinate with the season or holiday.

Examples:

• Turn it blood-red by adding cranberry flavors or pomegranate juice!
• Add food coloring (such as purple or black) to give it a dark, spooky look.
• Include some edible gold glitter or a bit of optional luster dust for a beautiful shimmery appearance in this spooky cocktail!

Add Garnish

Ok, not REALLY smoke…but dry ice would give an edible smokey and added eerie effect. Just add some little chips of dry ice directly to the glass.

If you’re making a large batch for a group, add a chunk of dry ice to the bottom of a punch bowl. If you do this, don’t allow kids to serve the drinks to eliminate the risk of them burning themselves on the dry ice.

Safety Tip: Please handle dry ice carefully and never touch it directly. Always use kitchen tongs to add dry ice chips to your drink.
