What is a whipped sugar scrub?
A whipped sugar scrub is similar to a traditional sugar body scrub, but instead of using liquid oil (such as olive oil, jojoba oil, or avocado oil), it uses a solid oil or butter that has been whipped as the base. I used solid coconut oil in this version. Sugar is mixed in, and it becomes an amazing, gentle exfoliant (it sluffs off the dead skin cells) that simultaneously moisturizes and leaves your skin feeling soft and glowing. It’s especially helpful during the winter months!

Supplies Needed
You just need 4 simple, natural ingredients to make the magic happen!
How To Make Whipped Sugar Scrub
- Add the sugar and coconut oil to a large bowl, or the bowl of a stand mixer.
- Beat on high for about one minute until a paste-like texture forms.
- Add the pumpkin pie spice and fragrance oil.
- Beat on high for 3-5 minutes, until you have a fluffy whipped mixture.
- Store in an airtight jar or container.

How To Use This Pumpkin Spice Whipped Sugar Scrub
If you’ve never used a sugar scrub before, you may wonder how to get the most out of it. Just follow these simple steps, and your skin will be silky smooth and glowing!
- Rinse your skin in warm water (this works well in the bath or the shower).
- Put a small amount of body scrub in your hand.
- Gently rub it on your skin in a small circular motion, using your hand or an exfoliating glove. Continue for no longer than 30 seconds.
- Rinse your skin liberally with warm (not hot) water.
PRO TIP: Because this whipped sugar scrub is such a powerful exfoliant, I recommend only using it once a week. You might be able to use it twice a week. Using it too often will cause your skin to be red and raw rather than smooth and glowing.
Pumpkin Spice Whipped Sugar Scrub Recipe Storage Tips
You can store your whipped sugar scrub in an airtight mason jar or canister (my favorite) in a dark cool place at room temperature. It should last about 6 months, but keeping the lid tightly closed is the key to preventing the coconut oil from going rancid.
For best results, if you notice a change in the way your whipped sugar scrub recipe smells, please dispose of it and make a new batch!

FAQs
I recommend washing your skin first and then using this sugar scrub to take it one step further. Once you use the whipped sugar scrub, rinse well, and gently pat your skin dry.
Coconut oil melts at body temperature, so it will melt as you use the sugar scrub. As you store it, if you keep it in a sunny or warm place, you may find that the sugar scrub melts and the oil separates a little.
Just give it a good stir and place it in a dark, cool place or in the fridge for about 10 minutes to solidify. You may continue to use your sugar scrub.
Oooo, wouldn’t that smell good? Yes, you can! Brown sugar is a great substitute for regular sugar for people who have sensitive skin.
